The Harcourts Business Leaders Conference (BLC) 2010 wrapped up on Wednesday of this week, and I have to say it was the best one yet. With a record number of nearly 500 delegates, I was proud to see each session full across the three days.

Among the many successes highlighted at BLC was the achievement of The Harcourts Foundation. By the end of the conference, our aim was to raise more than $500,000 in funds and that we did! By Wednesday afternoon, we had more than $503,000 which is a fantastic achievement.

We also heard from our heads of department about the massive growth we are experiencing, and the great projects currently underway. After hearing from these speakers there was no doubt in anyone’s mind – 2010 is going to be a very exciting year for Harcourts worldwide!

Our guest speakers were also spectacular. A perfect example was keynote speaker Giam Swiegers; CEO of Deloitte. He graced us with a wonderful presentation on innovative leadership. I think I can speak for all who attended when I say he is an extremely engaging man.

I have to say a highlight of the few days was our motivational session. James Castrission and Justin Jones, the two young men who kayaked across the Tasman Sea in 2007 unassisted, addressed the Harcourts team about goals and experiences. I know I won’t soon forget the powerful message they left with me!

Overall, it was a great Business Leaders Conference and I am really looking forward to our annual Conference in May of this year.
