Harcourts External Research Results – May 2012

Below is an except from Harcourts’ May 2012 External Client Survey Results for Australia and New Zealand.

Australia:

-          When sellers/purchasers were asked for the deciding factors when choosing their Harcourts agent, the answer has remained virtually constant since our surveys commenced in 2009; proving that real estate is a people business,  our clients are primarily choosing Harcourts/their agent because of a personal connection with that agent.

Q6. What were the deciding factor/s when you chose your Harcourts/your agent?

New Zealand:

-          Agents are increasingly presenting auctions as a sales method; in April 2009, only 67.57% of agents presented this to their clients, compared to 82.69% in May 2012.  Of those that were presented Auction as a sales method, 80% rated the presentation as excellent/good.

Harcourts External Research Results – April 2012

Below is an except from Harcourts’ April 2012 External Survey Results for Australia and New Zealand.

New Zealand:

-          The number of clients making a financial contribution towards the marketing of their property has generally increased since we commenced our surveys two years ago.  In April 2009, 65% of respondents indicated they contributed towards their marketing, compared to 73% in April 2012.

Q9. Did you make a financial contribution towards the marketing of your property?

Australia:

-          The number of purchasers buying properties for Investment purposes decreased towards the end of 2011, however this is now on the rise again in Australia in the new year, increasing from 26% in January 2012 to 43% in April 2012.

Harcourts External Research Results – March 2012

Below is an excerpt from Harcourts’ March 2012 External Survey Results for Australia and New Zealand.

Australia:

-          Respondents appear to be more optimistic coming into the new year regarding property prices over the next 12 months.  The number of respondents that think prices will stay the same has increased by 16%,  from 31% in November 2011 to 47% in March 2012.

Q36. Do you think property prices will increase, decrease or stay the same over the next 12 months?

New Zealand:

-          We asked our Landlord/Tenant respondents if they would use Harcourts to sell or purchase their next home – An impressive 90% said they would use Harcourts to assist them with their next sale/purchase.

Harcourts External Research Results – February 2012

Below is an excerpt from Harcourts’ February 2012 External Survey Results for Australia and New Zealand.

New Zealand:

-          We asked respondents how they rate their local Harcourts offices in the areas of professionalism, courtesy and helpfulness of the Harcourts receptionist and office presentation. Of respondents that had visited the office, 83% rated professionalism as excellent/very good, along with 81% of respondents rating the courtesy/helpfulness of the receptionist as excellent/very good and 75% rated the office presentation as excellent/very good.

Q18. How would you rate your local Harcourts office in the following areas? (Respondents that answered “Excellent/Very Good”).

Australia:

-          Likewise in Australia, respondents are also very satisfied with their local Harcourts office. Of respondents that had visited the office, 93% rated the professionalism as excellent/very good, along with 91% of respondents rating the courtesy/helpfulness of the receptionist as excellent/very good and 82% rated the office presentation…

Below is an excerpt from Harcourts’ January 2012 External Survey Results for Australia and New Zealand.

Australia:

-          When asked if purchasers/sellers predict that property prices will increase, decrease or stay the same over the next 12 months, overall last year more respondents think that prices will stay the same.  From July to November 2011, the number of respondents that feel that prices will increase over the next 12 months has risen from 9% in July, to 20% in December 2011.
