Harcourts Announces Top Auctioneers
Real estate group, Harcourts recently honoured its top auctioneers from around Australia at the Harcourts National Awards ceremony held at Conrad Jupiters on the Gold Coast.
Lindsay Warner of Brock Harcourts Adelaide was named Auctioneer of the Year for an unprecedented fourth year in a row, while up-and-comer Jim Georgiou of Harcourts Tecoma was named Most Promising Auctioneer of the Year.
Mr Warner took out the coveted title after fiercely competing against two other skilled auctioneers from around Australia in the grand final of the annual Auctioneers Competition at the recent Harcourts Conference. There were 10 entrants in total in the Harcourts auctioneers competition heats.
After commencing his career in rural real estate in Murray Bridge, South Australia, Mr Warner has worked in most areas of the real estate industry over the past 20 years and is currently the Corporate Auctioneer for Brock Real Estate and Account Manager for the South Australian Housing Trust.
Mr Warner is also one of just a handful of members of the South Australian real estate industry who has been awarded the title of Fellow of the Society of Auctioneers and Appraisers for services to the auctioneering industry.
“The opportunity to compete against the best auctioneers within the Harcourts group allows me to fine tune my auctioneering skills which then makes me a better auctioneer when I am working for my vendors in the sale of their homes,” Mr Warner said.
After competing in the novice division of the Auctioneers Competition, Mr Georgiou walked away with the title of Most Promising Auctioneer of the Year.
The novice auctioneering competition is a key opportunity for up-and-coming Harcourts auctioneers to fine-tune their skills and receive valuable feedback from experts in their field. There were nine entrants in this year’s competition.
Mr Georgiou lives and works in the Yarra Ranges and sees auctioneering as an essential part of the real estate industry.
Mike Green, Harcourts International Managing Director, is incredibly proud of both Auctioneers’ achievements.
“Lindsay is a fantastic auctioneer and an exceptional real estate professional. I’m incredibly proud of his achievements and it is great to honour him with this award.
“Jim is such an outstanding up-and-comer and I’m sure we’ll be seeing great things from him in the near future. Both Lindsay and Jim are great representatives of the Harcourts brand and I couldn’t be prouder of their achievements,” Mr Green said.
