Property Market Activity Remains Strong in Victoria
2012 has started with a bang for real estate group, Harcourts Victoria with increased listing and auction activity being reported by the firm’s Corporate Auctioneer, Paul English.
According to Mr English, Harcourts Victoria has listed more properties in January 2012 compared to January 2011.
“We’ve had a fantastic start to the year. All of our offices have reported a lift in property listing and buyer enquires. Already, we’ve listed more properties than this time last year,” Mr English said.
To manage this increased level of activity, Mr English says that the Harcourts Victoria team have had to adapt their tactics.
“We’ve really focusing on vendor management and are working incredibly closely with our clients. We’re making sure that our clients’ properties are on the market rather than in the market and are making sure that all of our properties are priced in line with market expectations,” Mr English said.
Despite some reports, Mr English says that auction activity remains strong within Victoria.
“So far, we’ve had some really great auction bookings. All of our major auction offices have posted good booking levels so far,” Mr English said.
“Overall, we’re confident that this year is going to be a better year than 2011 – not an easy year, but a better year. Here at Harcourts Victoria, we’re working smarter and harder, and are very optimistic about the year ahead.
“Already, we’ve had an influx of buyers, particularly first home buyers. There is a lot to choose from in the market so we need to sharpen our skills and pinpoint exactly what the buyers want.
“We’re seeing good activity levels and so far we’ve had a nice, positive reaction to the market which is fantastic to see this early on in the year,” Mr English continued.
